Gas Description
Neon (Ne) is a colorless, odorless, and non flammable rare gas. Usually, neon can be used as a filling gas for colored neon lights for outdoor advertising display; In addition, it can also be used for visual luminous indicator lights, voltage regulation, and laser mixture composition.
Main uses of the product
1. Used for neon lights and as a filling medium in the electronic industry (such as high-pressure neon lights, counter tubes, etc.);
2. Used for laser technology, as a visual indicator light, voltage regulation, and laser mixture composition;
3. Neon oxygen mixture replaces helium oxygen for respiration;
4. Used as a low-temperature coolant, standard gas, special mixture gas, etc;
5. Used for high-energy physics research, to fill a spark chamber with neon to detect the behavior of particles;
Danger
At high concentrations, this product can reduce the oxygen partial pressure in the air and pose a risk of suffocation. Manifestations include increased breathing, lack of concentration, and ataxia; Subsequently, fatigue, restlessness, nausea, vomiting, coma, convulsions, and even death may occur. Special protection is generally not required during production. But when the oxygen concentration in the workplace air is below 18%, it is necessary to wear an air respirator, oxygen respirator, or a long tube mask.
storage and transportation
1. Transportation precautions: Non corrosive, universal materials can be used. For liquid neon, austenitic stainless steel can be used. Neon is generally stored in glass or steel cylinders. During storage and transportation, light loading and unloading should be carried out to prevent container damage. The production of liquid neon is small, and it can be stored and transported in liquid helium containers similar to small liquid nitrogen screens. When using such containers, the support of their contents must be reinforced to adapt to the higher density of liquid neon;
2. Storage precautions: Ventilation and low-temperature drying in the warehouse; Light loading and unloading.
